The person gesturing OK emoji is the exact opposite of the person gesturing no emoji, though it frequently causes confusion and its meaning is not always understood. It shows the head and upper body of a person – almost always a woman – with arms raised to encircle their head and form a complete O-shape. The emoji’s face has a happy expression, further compounding the feelings of pleasure and consent. It is used to yes to all manner of questions, invitations and propositions. However, because this full arm O-symbol is not as recognizable as the X-symbol, the emoji is sometimes incorrectly used to convey a feeling of pleasurable surprise, or having been pleasantly taken aback by a revelation.
